Kansas City, Mo. - The cast of Damn Yankees stopped by 41 Action News Midday to show off some moves. The show's premiere is Friday, August 19 at Theater in the Park.
Damn Yankees is about a middle-aged baseball fanatic Joe Boyd, who trades his soul to the Devil, also known as Mr. Applegate, for a chance to lead his favorite team to victory in the pennant race against the New York Yankees. It's a show that has something for everything.
"Lots of singing, lots of dancing, great writing. It's a very old fashioned musical, but very fun," Director Tim Bair said.
This is not just a typical show, it's also a charity event. People are asked to bring old baseball equipment including bats, baseballs, gloves and hats. They will be donated to The Boys & Girls Club, as part of a program called 'Reviving Baseball in the Inner City.'
The show runs July 19-21 and July 25-27 at Theater in the Park.
