KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The owner of Eden's Bleu Bird, Twyla Elmore, was inspired to start her business by her grandmother. Elmore will celebrate one year in business next month. She credits her success to following her passion.
"Eden's Bleu Bird specializes in handcrafted children's clothing, accessories, and decorating children's nurseries. It's a custom children's clothing and accessories boutique," Elmore explained. "We have several fun and chic designs are offered; the unique ruffled bloomers, playful rompers, and colorful dresses."
Elmore is a business of one, creating her designs, choosing the fabric and even does most of the sewing.
"I love sewing and the creative process," Elmore said. "I credit my grandmother for inspiring me to have the confidence to start my own business."
Elmore said her faith in God motivates her and inspires her to continue through difficult times.
Her advice to other people starting a business is to learn everything about the business and find the people to give you information you need to grow your business and be successful.
"At the beginning I felt like I was all alone; now I feel stronger and my self-confidence is high," Elmore said.
Elmore explained that supporting and volunteering for non-profit organizations is also an important part of her business.
