Organization scrambles for chef for senior Christmas dinner

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Just one day before Christmas Eve, the organizers of a senior Christmas dinner are scrambling to find a chef.

Retired Kansas City Police Officer Richard White, who sets up the meal every year, says the chef for the dinner passed away a few weeks ago, but White only learned of his passing a couple of days ago.

Over the next two days, volunteers will be making 1,500 meals.

Now the group hopes someone with some cooking experience will step forward to help out.

"We've had two blizzards, transportation failed before; we've had all kinds of things happen, but you know something, God has always provided a miracle, and he's always delivered." White said.

If you are a chef, or know of a chef who can help, call 816-572-2646.
