KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A breast cancer survivor credits a mammogram with helping doctors find her cancer early -- and save her life.
Dawn Allen got her mammogram at the Samuel U. Rodgers Health Center.
"I had just lost my job a week before I found my lump, and had no insurance...so I thought the first step was to go someplace that would help," she said.
A grant from the the Susan G. Komen foundation paid for the initial exam, the mammogram and the ultrasound. She later had a mastectomy, which got rid of the cancer.
