KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A cancer survivor is touting the importance of the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
Diana Baker was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer in February.
Currently she is in Chemotherapy at Northland CARE/MetroCARE program at North Kansas City Hospital.
The program receives funding from the Komen Foundation and offers beast cancer screenings and treatment for women who are uninsured and living in Clay, Platte or Jackson counties.
Baker said the program has saved her life.
"We could be struck by lightning or, there are a number of things (other than this cancer), that can injure life but medically speaking, they've saved my life," Baker said.
More than 800 physicians participate in the Northland CARE/MetroCARE.
