Where did you go to college?
University of Utah

What are you most proud of when it comes to your work?
There are so many stories that I have had a profound effect on me.  Many of them revolve around covering the devastation of the forest fires in California.  Seeing the destruction first hand really impressed on me how important my role as a journalist.  Getting people accurate information in those dynamic situations is something that I am very proud of doing.

I am also very proud of a documentary I put together on the single largest loss of wine in U.S. History. It was a fire that destroyed $250 Million in wine at a large storage facility in California.   We spoke with winemakers who lost entire vintages in the fire.  For two years we followed the case through federal court as the man responsible for the fire was investigated and brought to justice. The documentary was nominated for an Emmy Award.

What are you most proud of in your own life?
My family. I find tremendous happiness in watching my three year old grow up. My wife is the strength and inspiration in my life and a great mother(She’s also way smarter than I).

What do you love about living in the KC area?
The people.  I am continually impressed with how nice and friendly everyone is here in the metro. I am also looking forward to having 4 distinct seasons. Living in Sacramento for the last decade has spoiled me a bit(no snow, mild winters, and no humidity), so I am sure I will need get adjusted.
