KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Every year nearly a quarter of a million people are diagnosed with lung cancer. Experts say lung cancer kills more people than breast, prostate and colon cancers combined.
Jessie Lewis stopped by 41 Action News Weekend Today to discuss a fundraiser scheduled for this Sunday called Free to Breathe.
Free to Breathe is an event series and fundraising program that was initiated in 2006 in Philadelphia in an effort to build a foundation for raising the public's awareness of lung cancer and increasing research funding to defeat lung cancer.
The money raised from Free to Breathe events support National Lung Cancer Partnership's vital mission of decreasing deaths due to lung cancer, and helping patients live longer and better, through research, awareness, and advocacy.
Online registration is closed but you can still participate in the event. The cost is $30.00. For more information, visit http://tinyurl.com/8wr29j4 .
