Kansas City Runners lace up as Santa to give back

Overland Park, Kan. - Kansas City runners are giving back this holiday season with the Great Santa Run. It's a 5k race or walk and the best part is -- you can dress up as Santa!

The run benefits Operation Breakthrough, a local nonprofit that helps children living in poverty to develop to their fullest potential by providing them with a safe, loving and educational environment.

Steve Blew and Joann Bushko of Kansas City Running Company stopped by 41 Action News to talk about the run.

The Great Santa Run is on Sunday, Dec 2 at 9 a.m. It's being held at the Johnson Community College in Overland Park, Kansas. Children can also take part in the Santa's Little Elves Kids Run, whish starts at 10 a.m.  You can register at http://www.kcsantarun.com
