Carrie Hofmann named as new KSHB News Director

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Carrie Hofmann has been named News Director for KSHB-TV, Kansas City’s 41 Action News station, it was announced today by Vice President and General Manager Brian Bracco. Hofmann joins 41 Action News from WCNC in Charlotte, where she served as Assistant News Director for the Belo-owned NBC affiliate.

“Carrie has the vision and leadership skills we believe will help 41 Action News move forward,” said Bracco.

Throughout her career, Ms. Hofmann has covered big events like the Democratic National Convention in 2008 and 2012, as well as the Colorado wildfires. Prior to her role as Assistant News Director at WCNC, she served as Assistant News Director at KMGH, the ABC affiliate in Denver. 

Carrie, an 18 year news veteran, has worked in newsrooms as an Executive Producer, Producer, and Assignment Editor and brings a can-do approach to the fast changing news industry.

“I am thrilled to be a part of the news team at 41 Action News. Together, we will break stories that matter to the viewers of Kansas City,” Hofmann said.

Ms. Hofmann, who is married and has an 8-year-old daughter, begins work at KSHB-TV on March 6.
