KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A series of events kicked off this weekend to raise awareness about breast cancer.

At the Susan G. Komen Pink Promise Brunch, women from all over Kansas City showed their support for breast cancer survivors.

On Saturday, May 12 in honor of Mother’s Day, Komen for the Cure is hosting mammogram parties in Kansas City and Overland Park.

The event is from 8 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., at the Johnson County Imaging Center and Imaging for Women in KCMO.

The events include prize drawings, food and a chance to get your annual mammogram in a supportive environment.
