OLATHE, Kan. - In preparation for Kansas City’s Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure on August 12, Prairie Life Fitness is partnering with the Komen Foundation to help people get in shape for the race. It’s called Transform for the Cure.
People who want to participate can go to Prairie Life Fitness on Monday, April 9 between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m.
Each person will be weighed, have their body fat measured and answer brief questions about their medical history. The personal trainer will recommend some fitness and diet tips for the 12-week program.
The person showing the greatest success at losing weight and maintaining a healthy diet will win a $2,500 cash prize. There is a $100 dollar donation to join Transform for the Cure. All of the money raised will go to the Susan G. Komen Foundation to help in the fight against breast cancer.
NBC Action News anchor, Cynthia Newsome will be participating in Transform for the Cure and is inviting everyone to join her and invite her to workout.
