Christa Dubill anchors 41 Action News weekday evenings at 4:30 p.m., 5:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. Christa grew up in Kansas, spending most of her childhood in Independence. She is a graduate of the University of Kansas.
After working as an intern at KSHB while in college, Christa's first job in television news was working the assignment desk at KSHB. She remembers several big stories developing on her watch; most notably, a major development in the heartbreaking Precious Doe case. She has also reported throughout her tenure, and has anchored for more than 10 years.
Christa first joined the 41 Action News team as the anchor of 41 Action News Today and 41 Action News Midday from 2007 through 2011. She also reported for the station's Everyday Parent & Workers Wanted series.
Christa enjoys both broadcast and print journalism. She has written for newspapers and magazines, with several regular columns. She now writes monthly for M Magazine, Kansas City's magazine for moms.
Most of Christa's time outside of work is spent balancing like so many working moms do. She jokes she has two full time jobs and occasionally finds time to sleep. In her spare time she shops for groceries and does laundry. She is married with two young boys. Her husband David is a Prairie Village native and Aquinas grad. Her sons are Andrew and Ryan, ages 5 and 1.
Even with such a busy schedule, Christa finds time to be involved with several area non-profits. She's on the Board of Directors for the Boy Scouts Heart of American Council, the board for Charlie's House ( www.charlieshouse.org), and on the board for the American Heart Association. She is also on the advisory board for the Junior League of Kansas City, MO.
Christa emcees dozens of events a year. Some events in which she's involved are the Heart Association's Go Red Women's Luncheon, the Promise of Hope luncheon for CASA, the Women's Leadership Luncheon, the Junior League of Wyandotte and Johnson Counties Cotillion, and the KC Ballet's Sugarplum Fairies Luncheon.
