JiaoJiao Shen joined the 41 Action News team in July 2011. She is thrilled to call Kansas City her home.

Shen comes to KC from OKC where she was a weekend morning anchor/weekday reporter at KOCO-TV.  While in OKlahoma City, she covered just about every type of weather scenario.

JiaoJiao has chased tornadoes, stood knee-deep in floodwaters and reported just feet away from wildfires.  She has covered the blistering Oklahoma heat and remained on-the-air for nearly 27 hours after getting trapped at the airport during the historic Christmas Eve blizzard of 2009.  JiaoJiao was also recognized for her work from the anchor desk.  The Oklahoma Association of Broadcasters awarded her and the amazing morning team "Best Morning Newscast" in 2010.

JiaoJiao is no stranger to Kansas City.  She started her broadcast career just west of the metro, in Topeka, Kan. as a morning anchor at KSNT-TV.  She went to school just east at the University of Missouri in Columbia.  (Go Tigers!)

It's more than just a job that brings JiaoJiao to the Kansas City area.  Her fiance, Jason, was born and raised here.  When she's not working, JiaoJiao enjoys spending time with her soon-to-be "family-in-law."

Shen has three adorable dogs: Gracie, Penny and Mr. Toulouse who keep her active and entertained.  JiaoJiao also tries to get to Colorado as often as possible to see her family.
