A lifelong Iowan before moving to 41 Action News, Zach Tecklenburg is thrilled to be living and working in Kansas City. Zach joined 41 Action News as a multimedia journalist in November 2011.
Zach grew up in the small town of Humboldt, Iowa and graduated from Drake University in Des Moines. While in school Zach worked behind the scenes at NBC affiliate, WHO-TV, operating studio cameras and writing for the website.
Zach's first reporting job was at another NBC station, KTIV-TV in Sioux City. The biggest story during his two years there came in the summer of 2011, with devastating flooding on the Missouri River in Iowa, Nebraska and South Dakota.
Now that Zach is in Kansas City, he feels very fortunate to be working at 41 Action News. Zach loves the variety every day brings and all the interesting people he gets to meet.
Outside of work, Zach's top hobby is eating. More specifically, finding little-known places off the beaten path to get a good meal. Other than that, Zach also likes riding his bike, mostly to make up for his first hobby.
