BEVERLY HILLS, California - As stars walked the red carpet of the 68th annual Golden Globe Awards, all eyes focused on what the women were wearing.
Some standout fashionistas will be the talk of Hollywood for days to come.
Lea Michele of “Glee” walked the carpet in a light pink Oscar de la Renta gown. Perez Hilton posted on Coco Perez that he thought it was too similar to the black Oscar de la Renta gown that Michele wore to the Emmys; both dresses have a ruffled bottom.
Several celebrities thought outside the box when choosing their Golden Globes fashion statement. Nominee Helena Bonham Carter wore an unusual Vivienne Westwood dress that she paired with mismatched red and green shoes. Her black veil and v-lined neck were attention grabbers. So were the sunglasses she donned to complete the look.
Gabourey Sidibe, who rose to stardom as the lead in “Precious,” caused a stir on the red carpet with her lavender sequined frock in leopard print. Perez Hilton said the dress was fit only for a Hawaiian vacation, but Celebuzz reported that she sparkled.
Olivia Wilde, the star of “Tron,” was among the first to arrive to the award ceremony. She commanded attention. Kelly Osbourne said she “takes the cake” for best fashion, and it was hard for any of her fellow hosts of E!'s “Live from the Red Carpet: The Golden Globes” to argue with that. Wilde was radiant in a strapless chocolate brown, twinkling Marchesa gown. She wore Christian Louboutin shoes. Even the official blog of the Golden Globes stated that she dazzled.
Many of the night's stars were pregnant. Best Actress winner Natalie Portman accentuated her baby bump perfectly in a light pink Victor and Rolf dress with a red rose accent. According to The Examiner, Portman's shoes were by Stella McCartney.
