Justin Bieber booed at Canadian football tournament

Pop star JUSTIN BIEBER faced a hostile reception after returning home to perform at a Canadian football tournament when the crowd booed and jeered throughout his set.

The Baby hitmaker, who hails from Ontario, Canada, was invited to entertain the half-time crowds at the Gray Cup playoffs between Toronto Argonauts and Calgary Stampeders at the game in Toronto on Sunday (25Nov12).

However, when the singer's face appeared on the viewing screens, hundreds of sports fans started to boo, and the shouts continued when he was brought onstage by a host.

The noise didn't stop as Bieber battled his way through his songs Boyfriend and Beauty and a Beat.

However, the star didn't seem to notice the negative reaction, telling the crowd after his performance, "Thank you so much Canada. I love you."
