Around Town: A weekend full of Kansas City-area events (Feb. 10-12)

Here are some of the events going on around town this weekend, February 10-12.

Kansas City Remodeling Show :
American Royal
Friday and Saturday: 10 a.m. – 9 p.m.
Sunday: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.

You'll find more than 300 businesses sharing the latest products and trends in home remodeling. The event features presentations from three HGTV design stars, Taniya Nayak, Brandie Malay and Cari Cucksey.

Tickets are $10 for adults and children under 12 are free.

Animal Tales and Trails :
Crown Center
February 4 - April 29
Regular Shopping Hours

The interactive habitat lets kids learn about all kinds of animals, from monkeys to penguins. The exhibit is best for children between 2 and 11 years old. It’s completely free and open during regular shopping hours at Crown Center.

Monster Jam :
Sprint Center
Friday and Saturday: 7:30 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday: 2:00 p.m.

This weekend, you can enjoy a high energy, car-crushing, monster truck show at the Sprint Center. Ticket prices start at just $15 for adults and $10 for children.

Royals Fans Got Talent :
Kauffman Stadium
Saturday: 8 a.m. – 2 p.m.

The Kansas City Royals are hosting their annual auditions to find talented people to sing the National Anthem and “Take Me Out to the Ballgame” during the 2012 baseball season.

Each performer gets 90 seconds to audition, and auditions are on a first come, first serve basis. Performers are encouraged to fill out an application form before arriving. You can find more information and the necessary paperwork Royals.com/perform .

Glenn Miller Orchestra Concert:
8800 W 85 ^th St.
Overland Park, KS
Saturday: 7:00 p.m.

The world famous Glenn Miller Orchestra is performing at Shawnee Mission West Saturday night. Tickets are $25 at the door, and the money from the concert benefits the Shawnee Mission West band.

KCPS Enrollment Open House meetings :

Sunday: 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.
