1. Attend the AKC Dog Show
Bartle Hall is full of barks this weekend. The dog show started Thursday and runs through Sunday.

2. See Sporting KC’s first home match.
Sporting KC opens its home season against the Chicago Fire at Sporting Park. The game is at 2 p.m. Saturday. Tickets range from $24.50-$55.25.
3. Let your kids pretend to be grownups
Do your kids often pretend to be astronauts, firefighters or police officers? They can dress up as their favorite profession at the Funville exhibit at Crown Center. Funville is free and will be at Crown Center through May 5.
4. See the Missouri Mavericks in action
The Missouri Mavericks play the Denver Cutthroats on Friday at 7 p.m. and the Quad City Mallards on Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Independence Events Center.
5. Participate in one of the city’s many St. Patrick’s Day events.
