KANSAS CITY, Mo. - After days of intermittent rain, a nice weekend is in the cards. Here are five fun things to do this weekend in and around Kansas City.
1. Overland Park Civic Band concert in the park
Join the Overland Park Civic Band for an evening of great music in Santa Fe Commons Park. The concert is Sunday from 7-8 p.m. It will be an evening of great music, including marches, show tunes, classic works and more. Admission is free.
2. Chris Mann at the Midland
Chris Mann will perform at The Midland on Saturday night. Tickets are $39.50-$49.50 for the Kansas native. The concert starts at 8 p.m.
3. Strawberry Festival in Independence
The annual outdoor Vaile Mansion Strawberry Festival is scheduled for Saturday. The event is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and admission to the grounds is free. Anyone who wants a mansion tour will pay $6. More than 100 craft booths will be set up, along with a number of activities for people of all ages.
4. Sporting KC vs. Montreal Impact
Sporting KC competes against the Montreal Impact at Sporting Park on Saturday. The match begins at 7:30 p.m., and tickets are anywhere from $15-$125.
5. Festa Italiana
Zona Rosa hosts Festa Italiana all weekend. Entertainment for Festa Italiana starts at 11 a.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. Sunday. Admission is free for the celebration of Italian traditions and Italian-American culture.
