KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Kansas City Soap Box Derby held its All-American Championship race on Saturday.
Competitors arrived early to prepare their cars and have them weighed for competition. More than 25 kids competed, ranging in ages 7 to 18.
Joe Tillery is 13 years old. He's competed in soap box derbies for six years.
"I love it. It's a lot of fun," Tillery said
For the first time, the organization held a Super Kid race this year. That race started at noon.
Harrison Ross, of Kansas City, won the stock competition. Lizzie Tillery won the super stock competition.
Winners will go to Akron, Ohio to race in the World Championship Derby race.
