Local designers gear up to strut their stuff for Kansas City Fashion Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Designers from the Kansas City metro area are getting ready to leave it all on the catwalk for Kansas City Fashion Week.

Kansas City Fashion Week begins on Thursday with a kick off party and two-year anniversary celebration for locally-based Faction Magazine. Tickets for this event are $15 in advance, $20 at the door.  Five local designers will be featured at this party.

Featured and emerging designers will strut their stuff  at Friday's Red Carpet Gala Show. Red Carpet and doors open at 5:30 p.m.  The show begins at 7 p.m.  General admission tickets are still available for this event for $20.

Saturday is a packed day of shows beginning at 2 p.m. There's another event at 8 p.m. and the day ends with a 10 p.m. fashion show featuring two local boutiques.

Kansas City Fashion Week wraps up on Sunday with a Student and Scholarship Fashion Show featuring student designers.  Tickets are $10.  Finally, a wrap party will celebrate the Garment District Boutique's two-year anniversary Sunday evening at 5 p.m.
