The American Cancer Society's "Shave to Save" event gets started early and one participant gets her head shaved live on television to show solidarity with survivors and raise awareness for Hope Lodge. Hope Lodge is a temporary housing facility where cancer patients and their families can stay for free while traveling to the Kansas City area for treatment. Guests are able to focus on treatment and not worry about traveling back and forth or paying for a hotel. Tickets for "Shave to Save" are still available at the door - they are $50, which includes heavy appetizers, drinks, a live and silent auction, and of course you get to see all the shavees buzz their hair off!
