Teams of Kansas City kids will put their culinary skills to the test in a Jr. Iron Chef competition, and the event is designed to raise awareness about common food allergies. Milk, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, soy, wheat, fish and shellfish are the most common food allergies. The students must prepare an allergy-friendly dish that will be judged by a panel of Kansas City culinary greats.
One of the judges, Chef Carl Thorne-Thomsen from Story , shared some of his cooking tips for an allergen-free mushroom risotto.
