Restaurants at Zona Rosa in the Northland are offering up food specials for Eat Week. For each Eat Week special purchase, Zona Rosa will donate $5 to the Northland Childhood Hunger Fund and the guest will be entered to win a $500 Zona Rosa gift card.
Chef JR Grady from Fat Fish Blue, one of the participating restaurants, cooked up some shrimp in the KC Live kitchen.
Robert Jr.’s Hennessey Shrimp
2 oz olive oil
4 oz mixed bell peppers, diced
½ tsp minced garlic
10 21/25 shrimp
2 oz Hennessey Cognac
4 oz Heavy Cream
2 tbsp Unsalted Butter (softened)
Heat oil in sauté pan over medium-high heat. Sauté peppers until almost cooked, approx. 1 ½ minutes. Add shrimp to pan. After 1 minute turn shrimp and add garlic. Immediately deglaze pan with Hennessey. Carefully flambé pan and add heavy cream. Continue cooking until sauce covers spoon. Finish with softened butter. Serve over seasoned rice.
