These days many women earn more money than their husbands and we have even seen the rise of the stay at home dads.

As roles in the house evolve, should the commercials too?

Nancy Besa of Besa Public Relations said this year she hopes advertisers get away from the type of commercials that degrade men.

She said women make a lot of decisions in the house these days and advertisers believe women find those types of commercials humorous.

Nancy Besa’s husband said commercials that portray men as irresponsible and immature are not funny and they promote a bad stereotype.

“I want to see them portrayed fairly and equally like women expect to be portrayed in commercials. I cook and clean around the house but I also work so I would just like to see it a little more even-keeled than what it is,” said Greg Besa, Nancy Besa’s husband.

Only a couple commercials have been released at this point, so we will have to wait until Super Bowl Sunday to see the theme of this year’s advertisements.

Nancy Besa said so far, the commercials look to be a little kinder toward men.
