KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A local theatre group, Music Theatre for Young People , held vocal and dance auditions Tuesday for their spring break show – Xanadu.
Xanadu is a Broadway musical – roller skating to disco music.
Marty Thomas was in the original Broadway cast for the show. He learned dance in Kansas City and went to the University of Missouri in Kansas City.
He’s back in town to direct and choreograph the show.
"I grew up in a really small town Trenton, Missouri. A couple hours north of here. We didn't really have an arts program. So programs like Music Theatre for Young People were just paramount to me to learn the craft,” said Thomas.
