KANSAS CITY, Mo. - In Miss Saigon , Puccini’s Madame Butterfly is brought to the modern world. This powerful pop opera is an emotional tale about forbidden love, the tragedies of war and the sacrifices made to achieve the American Dream.
The Tony award winning musical is a love story about the relationship between an American GI and a young Vietnamese woman during the American occupation of Saigon during the Vietnam War.
It's directed by Fred Hanson with Music Direction by Kevin Stites and Choreography by Baayork Lee. Rona Figueroa and Minami Yusui both are featured performers in the ensemble.
Miss Saigon runs September 7-13 at Starlight. The production opens in Kansas City and then travels to Hartford, Detroit and St. Paul.
