KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Radio stations throughout the metro honored the memory of Whitney Houston on Monday.

105.1 Jack FM played Houston songs all morning long. 99.7 The Point devoted an entire hour to her.

Houston was underwater and apparently unconscious when she was pulled from a Beverly Hills hotel bathtub on Saturday.

Authorities said she also had prescription drugs in her room.

Police say she was not killed, but that it could be weeks before the coroner's office completes toxicology tests to establish the cause of death.

The 48-year-old singer had struggled for years with cocaine, marijuana and pills, and her behavior had become erratic.

Between songs Monday, listeners talked about why her death touched so many people.

"She got so many women through breakups and relationships and love. That I help that people can't help but feel touched because those songs relate to a single moment in their lives," said Bryan Truta, morning show host at 105.1 Jack FM

Houston's death tinged the Grammy ceremonies with sadness. It also probably boosted viewership, which was 50 percent higher than last year, with nearly 40 million viewers tuning in to the program on CBS.

The regal pop star's family made arrangements to fly her body home to New Jersey for a funeral at the end of the week.
