KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The new superhero reboot, The Amazing Spider-Man, will surprisingly amaze audiences.
The spider-man suit is now in the hands of Andrew Garfield ( The Social Network), who plays Peter Parker.
This new movie tells a more realistic story with the focus on human interaction, rather than special effects.
Don't get me wrong, there's plenty of high-flying action, but the story is well-done this time around.
Director Marc Webb ( 500 Days of Summer), knows how to make a good flick.
The real shining moment for The Amazing Spider-Man is Garfield.
He's a more talented actor than Tobey Maguire ever was, plus, he brings a pleasant and entertaining performance as Peter Parker.
Garfield does what Maguire couldn't, he actually acts.
"Probably the biggest reason why I wanted to do the movie was camera testing with him {Garfield} and it was kind of a no brainer after that because he's just an incredible actor", said Emma Stone.
It's refreshing to see a reboot of this Spider-Man series, considering Spider-Man 3 will go down as one of the biggest disappointments of any superhero movie ever made.
The scene where Maguire turned into an emo-infested/cool Peter Parker, could be one of the worst scenes in recent filmmaking history.
If you haven't seen the scene I'm talking about, here it is:
No worries though, because there's none of this in The Amazing Spider-Man.
A real actor like Garfield mixed in with the delightful and unstoppable Emma Stone, means we have a winner at the box-office this fourth of July weekend.
Martin Sheen, Sally Field, Denis Leary and Rhys Ifans also co-star in the film.
The Amazing Spider-Man is rated PG-13 f or sequences of action and violence.
Runtime: 2 hours and 16 minutes.
Budget: $215 million
