TV audiences say goodbye to Steve Carell’s ‘Michael Scott’ in a 50-minute episode of ‘The Office’

UNIVERSAL CITY, California - Michael Scott, one of television’s most beloved and maddening bosses will say his farewell in a special 50-minute episode of “The Office” Thursday night on NBC.
Carell announced the end of his tenure on the show last year, to spend more time with his family and concentrate on films.
After six years, now that the finale is finally here it's met with tears, as well as smiles.
"I think it's just, for me, a celebration of what a great experience this whole thing has been," Carell says.
Several episodes are left this season that will feature a laundry list of guest stars including James Spader, series creator Ricky Gervais, Jim Carrey and Ray Romano.
