KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A local bride-to-be says one of the reasons she and her fiancé picked Dec. 12 for their wedding date is because she has a forgetful husband.
Kristen Fowles, from Platte City, says hopefully her soon-to-be-husband will always remember their anniversary.
"My finace has a bad memory so this way he'll never forget our anniversary, hopefully or he better not at least. And, I like Wednesdays, they're my favorite day of the week so it just kind of worked out perfect," she said.
The couple is getting married on 12/12/12.
Dec. 12, 2012 is the last triple number sequence of the century.
According to David’s Bridal, more than 7,500 brides will marry Wednesday, compared to just 485 on December 12, 2011.
The memorable date isn’t the only reason Fowles and her groom picked the day. She also says good things happy to the couple on Wednesdays.
According to David’s Bridal, having a wedding on a weekday is a growing trend as couples look for budget-friendly options and flexibility.
Angela Smith, a store manager at David's Bridal in North Kansas city says bridal stores benefit from the growing iconic date trend in the United States
"Each year since seven, seven, seven, we've seen an increase in brides getting married on these iconic dates so there has been an influx in sales for these dates."
According to David's Bridal More than 65,000 couples in the United States tied to knot on July 7, 2007 (7/7/07.)
For professional numerologists, 12/12/12 isn't just a cool repetition of digits or a lucky day for lovers.
It's a fantastic day to start a new business venture or make a significant purchase, Indian numerologist Swetta Jumaani said.
According to numerology, "12" is considered a "three" number because the digits add up to three.
And three is a very good number because it corresponds with the largest planet, Jupiter, in addition to wealth. (In case you're wondering, the No. 1 planet is the sun, and the No. 2 planet is the moon.)
"If you're in a business of trading money, or the buying and selling of anything, tomorrow is a good day to make investments," Jumaani said Tuesday. "If you want to buy something -- property, if you want to buy gold -- it'd be a good day."
But, for those who are are not in the business of buying and selling, such as Kirsten Fowles, December 12, 2012 is the best day for love.
