KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Royals star Billy Butler is stepping up to the dinner plate and taking a swing at hunger.
Thursday night, Butler introduced his new barbecue sauce at the Saint James Community Kitchen in the 3900 block of Troost.
His new flavor of sauce is called, "Hit It a Ton".
Butler says it caters to just about everybody in Kansas City.
"It's a bolder taste. It's not spicy at all and has a good, bold flavor to it."
Hundreds of men, women and children at the Community Kitchen Thursday were the first to try it out.
"I'm sure everybody is going to like it. It's really good and everybody likes some barbecue around here so it's not going to disappoint."
Butler and his wife have helped the Bishop Sullivan Center feed Kansas City's hungry for five years now.
They've donated more than 300 tons of food so far.
