KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The search to find a new head chef is over for one of Kansas City’s most iconic restaurants.
The American Restaurant announced Tuesday Michael Corvino will take over as executive chef.
Corvino comes from Dallas, Texas, where he was the executive sous chef at Rosewood Manision on Turtle Creek.
“His culinary vision and unique perspective will bring a new level of luxury to every dining experience,” general manager Jamie Jamison said.
Corvino’s hiring comes after former executive chef Debbie Gold packed up her knives in April, after 13 years with the restaurant.
Gold won the coveted 1999 James Beard Award and appeared on seasons 2 and 4 of Bravo’s “Top Chef Masters.”
