KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Snacks during the Super Bowl are as much a part of the game as the commercials, but some of our favorite snacks can pack on the pounds.

Charles Platkin, Ph.D., from the City University of New York School of Public Health at Hunter College, recently released a list of Super Bowl favorites on DietDetective.com . Platkin’s list includes information on Super Bowl related exercises that equal the calories eaten in our favorite snacks for the big game. Platkin also includes healthier alternatives to the snacks.

For example, eating six traditional hand-spun buffalo wild wings dipped in ranch dressing would require doing “the wave” 6,480 times to burn the calories. Instead, Platkin recommends making baked skinless wings.

And if you’re planning a New Orleans-themed Super Bowl party, Bubba Gump Jambalaya has 1,100 calories. That equals 375 minutes of preparing, cooking, serving and cleaning up after a Super Bowl party.

If the halftime show is more your style, it would take 57 minutes of dancing to Beyonce to burn off the calories in three 12 oz. cans of Pepsi.
