KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Tuesday is National Pancake Day across the nation.
In return for a free short stack of buttermilk pancakes, customers are asked to donate money to the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. The restaurant is giving away free pancakes from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
The goal is to raise more than $3 million nationwide. Locally, the money will be donated to KU Children's Medical Center.
This year, the pancake restaurant plans to give away 4 million pancakes. If stacked on top of each other, they would stand 16 miles high.
This is the eighth year for the big event.
