A chef at a Kansas City restaurant has been nominated for a top title.

Alex Pope, the executive chef at Kansas City’s R Bar & Restaurant , has been nominated for The People’s Best New Chef in the Midwest by Food & Wine .

Since 1998, Food & Wine editors have gone from coast to coast, seeking out 10 top chefs in 10 regions. This year, the public has a say in who should get the title of Best New Chef.
