Coupon Moms dish on how to save on Black Friday

KANSAS CITY, Missouri - Metro moms Tracie Fobes, who’s behind PennyPinchinMom.com and Candy Tai who runs, KCMetroMoms.com spend a lot of time telling their readers how to save money.

Both have been able to save thousands over the years through clipping coupons and looking for the best deals in town. So we asked them how to save on this upcoming shopping holiday.

Fobes says some of the best deals are going on right now.  “This year what seems to be the trend is the pre-black Friday sale. What I am finding right now is most of the coupons expire Wednesday,” said Fobes.

She says at Target they have coupons for a Beauty and the Beast DVD. If you use the store coupon and combine it with a Disney coupon and then use two rebates, you can snag the $24 deal for free. The same goes for the Leap Frog Books. And a game called Cupong, you can get for two dollars if you combine coupons.

Candy Tai says the “the money is there and they are offering you that deal, they want you to use it.” She found games at Target again on sale for $7. If you buy three you can get $5 off, so each game costs you a little over $5. That’s 60 to 70 percent off.

The moms say if you want to wait in line on Friday there are some good deals to be had. Tai found small household appliances, like a mixer, toaster and sandwich maker for three dollars at Target.

At Toys R Us’ they have a toy train set you can buy for $2 with coupons, plus you get free crayons and a coloring book with the deal.

At Wal-Mart they have 32 inch flat screens, but quantities are limited.  The moms say you have to read between the lines.

“A lot of times there are only ten of those high price items in the store, so even waiting all night is not worth it,” said Fobes.

Jewelry is big this year, but you have to make sure it’s what you want and now just gold plated.

Their advice, plan, read the adds, stay calm and hit only two to three stores at most so you get what you need.
