Many of us have rooms over our garage or second and third story that we can only keep cool with window units - but the times are changing!

New new mini split units have a very small compressor that goes on the outside of your house and the refrigerant pipe and power are directed outside and can even be hidden in gutters. You can install whisper-quiet  wall or ceiling units in your home and place them in virtually any room.

If you currently have a central air system but just can't get certain areas of your home cool, you can add  zone systems. They have computer controlled baffles that are operated by a thermostat near the room you're having trouble with - and direct air where you need it.

Those old window units are very expensive to operate. This might be the time to look into efficient ways to keep your cool!
