Many of us every spring spend thousands of dollars landscaping, trying to hide that ugly view from inside the home. And it takes years for those plants to develop and hide that ugly view. In less than 24 hours, you make this view look spectacular.
If you thought leaded glass was just for beautiful churches, you're missing out on one of the world's oldest art forms in your home. From stunning cabinet doors to light fixtures, you can add a beautiful view just about anywhere.
“It provides privacy,” says Jamie Jones, owner of Leaded Glass Studio. "Especially in your bathrooms or entryways where you want to the light to come in and fill the house and the entryway. Warm and inviting that way, but it also provided the privacy so they don't feel like they're living in a fish bowl."
Jones has been building these works of art since he was just 15 years old. Eventually taking over a family business, and he says it stays exciting because no two projects are ever the same.
“The beauty of this is like I say, we custom make everything we do,” says Jones. “Every project is unique. There is a very rare occasion where we reproduce a pattern from yesterday, or from days gone by.”
Whether it's blocking an ugly view or just adding beauty, it might surprise you that leaded glass like these cabinet doors are in the hundreds of dollars and not thousands. Plus they're still made with old fashioned craftsmanship and not machines. Something your family will treasure for generations.
What a spectacular way to make an ugly view spectacular! We'll see you next week.
