KANSAS CITY, Mo. - New phones, TVs and computers are at the top of many Christmas lists this year.

It’s tempting just to throw the old one in the trash, but a better solution is recycling.

Businesses like the Laptopsquad in Kansas City recycle most old electronics for free and help you make a smaller impact on the environment.

Before you recycle used electronics, make sure to remove any personal information from phones and hard drives. That will help prevent you from becoming a victim of ID theft if someone buys it.
