GLADSTONE, Missouri - Earth Day was a day-long celebration at Oakhill School in Gladstone.
Students made posters, played games, and even created an oil-spill experiment.
Learning to take care of the earth is nothing new for the Oakhill students - the school launched an environmental awareness program four years ago.
"We reycycle cardboard, paper, and plastic," said eighth-grader Mary Gravis. "And we compost all the food that can be broken down instead of throwing it away."
Oakhill School's next project is an outdoor classroom featuring native Missouri plants. See more on the garden at the Oakhill School website.
