ANCHORAGE, Alaska - At first glance, the moon looks like a giant jack-o-lantern.
It’s a real photo that photographer John Gomes took earlier this week while taking some scenic shots near Elmendorf-Richardson Air Force Base in Anchorage, Alaska.
He noticed an Air Force C-17 about to cross the moon and presto, the great pumpkin appears.
That psychological phenomenon that causes our minds to create a human face out of a random pattern is called “pareiodolia.”
