Sporting KC players flip the switch on the Plaza Lights

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Sporting KC players Matt Besler, Kei Kamara and Jimmy Nielsen flipped the switch during the 83rd Annual Plaza Lighting Ceremony.

Besler, an Overland Park native and Blue Valley West grad, spoke to 41 Action News before the ceremony and shared his excitement for the big night.

"I never thought I'd be the one that gets to do it. That's a huge honor for me again. Since I'm from here, I really do understand the tradition of the plaza lighting ceremony and it doesn't get any bigger around Thanksgiving than that," Besler said.
