Dogs learn to swim in Merriam

MERRIAM, Kan. - It may be a tough task to teach your kids how to swim, but what about your dog?

On Tuesday, the Merriam Aquatic Center hosted Pooch Paddle. 

Dogs and their owners went through two one-hour sessions.

Prizes were given out to the biggest and smallest dogs, and there was even a dog and owner look-a-like contest.

The Aquatic Center puts on the event every year before the pool closes for the summer.
