KANSAS CITY, Mo. - 41 Action Chief Meteorologist Gary Lezak and 38 The Spot host Crystle Lampitt will lead the Kansas City Pet Telethon Sunday evening on 38 The Spot.
The Telethon is the largest fundraiser of the year for the Humane Society of Greater Kansas City.
The Humane Society of Greater Kansas City is the oldest existing humane society in the Kansas City metro area. It became the area's first no-kill shelter in 1994. This year, it is celebrating 100 years of service.
The Telethon's 2012 goal is to raise $165,000 and every dollar counts. There is no minimum donation. Everyone who gives a $60 gift will receive a long-sleeved Pet Telethon t-shirt.
The Telethon airs from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Sunday evening on 38 The Spot. Other 41 Action News personalities will be present as well including meteorologist George Waldenberger and morning anchor JiaoJiao Shen.
