OLATHE, Kan. - A local animal shelter wants every dog or cat to have a home for Christmas.
The Olathe Animal Shelter is letting residents take an animal home for $10 in its annual “Home for the Holidays” program.
Families will be allowed to take a pet home for the holidays and choose to either adopt it, or bring it back to the shelter after the holidays. It costs a $10 non-refundable fee.
“All of them will have had their rabies vaccinations and be spayed and neutered and will be ready to go home,” Supervisor Vickie Hudson said.
Families can return the pets starting Dec. 27. The Olathe Animal Shelter said it has a nearly 100 percent success rate with finding pets a home each Christmas.
