KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Some of Kansas City's best volunteers were honored Thursday night.

The Nigro brothers were given the Rising Stars of Philanthropy award.

The award is given by the Nonprofit Connect group.

George and David Nigro along with Ron Strickler and Toby Tiler work 140 auctions a year -- raising $6 million for various charities.

NBC Action News anchor Elizabeth Alex was also there accepting an award for Kids TLC.
