KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Whether they love or hate snow, somebody in Kansas is probably waking up awfully happy Thursday morning.
A single Powerball ticket sold in northeast Kansas won the estimated $50 million jackpot in Wednesday night’s drawing.
The winning numbers were : 5-8-20-23-30 Powerball 3. The cash option for the prize is an estimated $32.679 million.
Kansas lottery officials encourage the person holding the winning ticket to sign it immediately and put it in a safe place until it can be claimed.
The northeast region of Kansas, where the ticket was sold, includes these 21 counties: Marshall, Nemaha, Brown, Doniphan, Riley, Pottawatomie, Jackson, Atchison, Geary, Wabaunsee, Shawnee, Jefferson, Leavenworth, Wyandotte, Johnson, Osage, Douglas, Franklin, Miami, Morris and the northern half of Lyon.
