KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Big changes are coming to one of the most popular movie theaters in Kansas City, Mo.
Thursday is the official grand opening of the Alamo Drafthouse downtown. A ribbon cutting ceremony will take place at 9 a.m.
It replaces the former AMC Mainstreet, which the Texas-based chain took over earlier this year.
All week long, the Alamo Drafthouse gave away special deals to its moviegoers, including $2 movies and half off its in-theater dining experience.
Wired Magazine calls the Alamo Drafthouse, "The coolest theater in the world."
