KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The owners of Kansas City’s Country Club Plaza have announced the addition of three new stores opening this year.
Vera Bradley, Teavana and Potbelly Sandwich Shop will open on as of yet undetermined dates this spring, Highwoods Properties announced this week.
Vera Bradley , to be located at 319 Nichols Road, is a women’s luggage, handbag and accessory retailer. In business since 1982, it opened its first store in 2007 and has since expanded to more than 75 U.S. locations.
The brand is also sold in 3,300 independent specialty retailers.
“The brand and store, already beloved by many of our customers, belong on the Plaza,” Highwoods Properties’ Kansas City Division Vice President Glenn Stephenson said.
Teavana , to open at 427 Nichols Road, is a high-end tea bar and tea retailer, offering more than 100 varieties of the world’s finest loose leaf tea and teawares and accessories.
“The shop will offer a unique product and service to our customer, and we’re pleased to bring it to the district,” Stephenson said.
Potbelly Sandwich Shop will be located at 4725 Broadway. Its first location opened in 1977 in an antique store in Chicago. It has since opened more than 260 shops across the country, keeping the antique store feel in its interior decorating.
The Plaza location will be the first Potbelly store in the Kansas City area.
“We’re pleased to welcome Potbelly to the Country Club Plaza and to Kansas City,” Stephenson said. “This restaurant will offer another great dining option for the Plaza’s customers.”
